I have a garmin gps forerunner and it hooks up to the computer by a parallel cable, how do I connect it to my laptop which dont have parallel connections now? Is it garbage or is there any way to bypass this?

I’m looking into purchasing a gps garmin watch. I’m just curious as to what is the difference in the two watches. I have read that people have had some issues with the 405. I didn’t know if maybe the 405cx corrected these issues. Thanks!!!
